Relaxing Thanksgiving!
Season's Greetings, All! Whenever it is you read this, I hope it finds you enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend with a happy mix of activities and relaxation.
My question for you this week is,
How many nooks and crannies can you find in your body to store water?
Wiggle around a little if you need to find more. Anyplace that feels stiff or stuck is a good place, so drink plenty of fresh cool water and think of your body as a giant sponge - squeeze it a little to get all the chunks wet.
Consider our useful, fluid knee. If we think of the muscles as marionette strings look how many separate strings we can consider. Each "string" needs its own smooth path. Our bodies do not use eyelet hooks to get smooth movements, it uses fascia, and fascia is like a sponge. So take a drink and see if you can find the edges of your strings. A good time to do this is when you are putting on lotion, which we will probably all do in this first winter-like holiday!
Best!

Coming Up for a Breath. . .
It looks like the web booking process has tipped back into the "easy" range. Thank you to all who have given me valuable feedback on the website and booking process! I'm still learning how to manage the various tools at my disposal, so PLEASE let me know if you have any issues with the process, or any suggestions. As always, you can reach me by text, phone or email.
I've been thinking a lot about experience lately. I have access to so many skilled, talented and wise people who not only know more than I do, they know different things than me. I can ask questions about my practice, my business, my marriage, my children, my education. . . and I can usually find more than one voice on any topic! What a treasure!
This is a heavy learning time for me. I'm learning biology and chemistry at school, along with practical skills like the scientific method and communication tools. I'm learning how to run a small business in a web-based world. I'm learning how to be the parent of adults, and how to enjoy all the various relationships in my life. Sometimes I'm the oldest person in the room, and sometimes the youngest or least experienced. It feels humbling to know how much I have to learn.

Problems Booking?
I just found out that it is hard to schedule using this website! This is bad news, since I thought the software I chose was supposed to make things easier for all of us. 😔
As I travel my learning curve and get these details worked out, please be patient. And in the meantime, the easiest way to book is to call, text or email. Since I couldn't find my own contact info on my website(!!!), I'll include it here.
505-218-6974
Please accept my deepest apologies for any inconvenience, and I thank you for your patience as I work out these "convenience" details.
Can't wait to hear from you! Have you had trouble using the booking app? Post your comments below.

Nob Hill Billy
Rion called me a name the other night, because I told him the story of my clichéd day.
I went to work in my new office. I am up and running, by the way, and accepting appointments. Those intrepid souls who come in before the Grand Opening will witness the progress as it happens. Anyway, after my first day at the office, I needed to stop somewhere for dinner supplies. La Montanita Co-op is just blocks away from my office, so I drove my old Volvo over there and walked across the street in my Birkenstocks and my Michael Franti concert tee. I found a small selection of fresh local meats, tasty veggies and fruits and excellent dark chocolate bars. What else could I need? Oh, yes! A lunch deli! So I bought the membership!
I was excitedly telling Rion the story, how I need to dig out my reusable bag and how I might just walk over there for groceries on my lunch break when he laughed and labeled me. I don't know if he made it up or if that's a thing, but I have to admit I resemble that remark!
I'm having fun here in Nob Hill, and can't wait to catch up with you all!

Postponed But Coming Soon!
I've just returned from Takoja Retreat Center, hidden in the sage and piñon north of Questa, NM. It's as close to the Dikelands as I can get yet. What? You've never heard of the Dikelands?? There are places hidden across the country where women can go but men cannot. It's called the Women's Land Movement, and it is international. It was started in the 70's, when Feminism ruled with an iron fist. Some women, many of whom happened to be lesbians, were audacious enough to believe they could live whole lives without men around, so they did. They bought land and built homes and cleared gardens, all without male muscle. I don't know where it started, but it grew. Now there are safe spots the world over where a woman can go and live communally, even if she's not a lesbian. There is women's land right here in New Mexico! I know, because I heard it from a friend who heard it from someone who's been there.
Think of it! I could build a little house, a tiny house! with my own hands. My daughters can help. It would be a gift to the commune, but we would use it as we pleased. Would it have electricity? Would I have to bring in water for each stay? Living off the land is hard work, and there will be no man around to chop firewood. I will need an axe! I'll miss Rion when I'm there, and I'm sure I'll miss his help plenty of times as we build. But what an adventure! Oh, to be as bold and strong as the women who came before me! I want to stand, proud of what I've built, and willing to share it.
But for now, I retreat to the domes of Takoja, where I can hear myself think. I also hear elk bugling and trees waving in the wind, drops of rain rising to THUNDER as a storm comes on. And Rion is there, working on his projects. What tranquility! As I stop and calmly think about changes and paths and shelves and shiny things, I think what a privilege it is to see the place, to know the story, bit by bit, of generations of a family carving their lives into and out of this place. What a rare treasure to smell the hidden flowers of a happy house plant, which has grown so large it covers a balcony! All of this came from the dreams of one woman, who shared her life with her children and her grandchildren after them, along with the myriads of people they all have touched along the way.
I better start practicing! I've got a lot to live up to, and all I have to start with is a little massage office and big dream!
That being said, I have to postpone our office warming party. It's entirely my fault, I changed my mind too often, and some of the important parts of the massage room will not be ready on Friday the 26th as originally planned. But please join me on Friday, September 16, 2016! I hope that's enough notice and you can all drop by on that day. Don't worry if you have an appointment scheduled, the parts missing on Friday will arrive in time!
I can't wait to see you all, whether I get my hands on you or not!

Girl Power
Hello, Ladies! How are we? Don't throw shapes, throw parties!
I have worked with some delightful ladies over the years, and I will always be happy to hear from any of you! I have high hopes for a good future for all, created by your good choices. In this post you will find my advice in the form of pop songs. Read on, but more importantly, listen on!
Daya - Sit Still Look Pretty
That is what I'm gonna be, because I want to be! Make all the little choices today that add up the life you want for yourself tomorrow.
Santa Maradona F.C. feat. Lucy Spraggan - Give Me Sunshine
I hope you have lifelong friends! Practice your social skills with boys AND girls, and enjoy every moment. Always leave time in your life to play. But don't break into other people's houses.
Also, ladies, a boy who will stop time for you is worth giving a chance.
Ivy - Sing
Literally sing! Take a deep breath, and belt it out like you mean it! I will sing with you! Or just clap. There is something empowering about using our own voice for a harmonious purpose.
Charli XCX - Vroom Vroom
All my friends are princesses, we keep it whipped and creamy! Enjoy being the fun and sexy creatures you are! This song found me when I first got my little blue scooter - cute, sexy and my ride's sporty, beep, beep!
P!nk - Just Like Fire
Pink is fearless, as was Alice in the Through The Looking Glass. Be fearless! No one can be just like you, anyway.
Grace - You Don't Own Me ft. G-Eazy
Ladies, you seriously need to be able to provide for yourself. It's best to choose something you like to do so it doesn't feel like work. If your children are lucky enough to have you as the full time mom, even for a season, I want you to have a back-up plan to support those wee ones. Be a honey making money, never ever be a broke ho.
Phil Collins - You Can`t Hurry Love
This message is timeless, but I only took you back to the 80's for it! No matter how long it takes, just wait! You'll know when it's right.
Meghan Trainor - Me Too
While a gold chain doesn't impress me, I am impressed that she can wear a giraffe suit to work! I hope you all can confidently see your life as so blessed that you're not surprised if others are jealous! Just be kind - don't rub it in.
Little Mix - Hair (Official Video) ft. Sean Paul
Please have slumber parties! For grow ups, they call them Women's Retreats or Girl's Trips. But take them! Develop strong bonds with as many women as possible. There is too much competition between women in our culture, and supportive relationships help in any number of crises, including those that only a curl will solve.
Taylor Swift - Shake It Off
While its always fun to try new things, you will be best at being yourself. As a wise man once quoted to me, "The only way to avoid criticism is to do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing." So just shake it off!
Beyoncé - Sorry
I want you to see that even a strong goddess like Beyonce can be betrayed. Don't ever be sorry for taking the action you need to take. Middle fingers up! Notice she has her girls with her.
Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
Here is the question - Are you a dangerous woman because a man let you be? Or are you dangerous because you're dangerous, and you feel like letting it out on him? Own your sexuality, learn what you like and don't like, and choose responsibly with whom you share it.
Beyoncé - Run the World (Girls)
I'm joining their squad after the zombie apocalypse. And in the meantime, let's run it!
Beyoncé - Grown Woman
What song have you been singing since you were a girl? Beyoncé shows us that she has been singing her song all along, a song she learned from her mother, and which she joyfully passes on to the next generation. Sing it loud so I can hear you, make it easy to be near you.
Little Mix - Word Up!
There is something fun and very contagious about being true to your own code word!
Beyoncé - 7/11
Maybe not fresher than you, but close! May fun permeate your life!
I'm sure I missed some of the best girl power songs. Leave a link with your comments below. I can't wait to hear from you!
